Thanks to technological advancements, working from home and telecommuting has exploded in popularity in the past decade. 2020 saw working from home become a necessity for many of us and the post-pandemic job landscape is seeing even more of a shift towards remote work. Whether you’re looking for better work-life balance or for just need a change, there’s never been a better time to start working from home than now. I’ve kept a running spreadsheet of job openings, benefits, advantages and disadvantages throughout the past year to help determine 21 work from home companies to consider for 2021.

1. Appen

If you’re looking for super flexible work? Want to try remote work as a second job or side hustle? Appen is ideal for those wanting to try working from home without quitting your day job. With contracts of varying duration and workload, Appen offers a variety of positions including social media evaluation, advertisement rating, translation, and transcription. Some projects will require only a few hours while others will have 10 to 15 hours per week for several months. You may recognize Kelly Services from their long-standing history of job placement and recruiting services. They regularly hire employees for a multitude of jobs ranging from tech support to sales in a large number of various industries, including accounting, information technology, and administration. 5. Hilton

The travel and hospitality industries understandably slowed down during 2020 due to necessary shutdowns. However, Hilton Hotels and Resorts has thrived during difficult times and has continued to hire reservations agents. Anthem is a well-known insurance company that has a long standing history of hiring remote employees and telecommuting. They offer sales, customer service advocates, social media account managers, just to name a few of their work from home options. Abbott Laboratories has been named to Fortune magazine’s best places to work in healthcare and biopharma for 2020, and for good reason. Employees report a high degree of work satisfaction and competitive pay and benefits. When someone mentions CVS, I immediately think of their retail stores with pharmacy. However, they are much more far reaching in the healthcare industry than their pharmacy services. They are hiring at every skill and experience level: customer service agents, pharmacy technicians, member services, nurses, case management, healthcare providers–even medical directors. They’re female-owned and founded, and they understand the need that many women have to work from home and balance their family lives–they get it.
